Sharpen skills, ramp up fitness, and re-energize motivation during a four-day USA Triathlon designated draft-legal camp in historic Gettysburg, Pennsylvania July 5-9, 2026.

Designed for youth, junior, and NCAA draft-legal triathletes, Draft Camp focuses on sharpening skills through repetition, ramping up fitness through daily training and recovery, and re-energizing motivation through friendly competition. And our early July timing provides a perfect daily training environment for youth and junior draft-legal triathletes leading into the final qualifier July 12 and the National Championship August 1-2, and NCAA triathletes preparing for their fall 2026 collegiate season.

Draft Camp coaches

Your coaches bring decades of experience racing and coaching draft-legal junior and collegiate triathlon.

Draft Camp is led by MC Elite head coach Christy Lausch. Christy holds USA Triathlon Level 2 and Youth & Junior Coaching Certifications, has led the USA Triathlon Junior Elite Women's Select Camp at the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, and is a regular instructor for USA Triathlon Coaching Education's Youth & Junior coaching certification program. In 2013, Christy brought the first USA Triathlon Skills Camp to the Mid-Atlantic region and in 2018 was named USA Triathlon Development Coach of the Year. Christy championed the formation of the Junior Triathlon Coaches Association and serves as its president.

Amy Maxwell is head coach of West Point Triathlon and holds USA Triathlon Level 2 and Youth & Junior Coaching Certifications. Amy has led West Point Triathlon to eight Northeast Collegiate Triathlon Conference team championships and in 2019 coached the USA Triathlon Collegiate National Champion in the female draft-legal race. In 2022, Amy was named College Coach of the Year.

Anna Lausch has 21 years of triathlon experience—nine of those including draft-legal racing experience—and holds a USA Triathlon Level 1 Coaching Certification with a focus on paratriathlon. Anna was one of the first recruits for Colorado Mesa University’s NCAA Women’s Division II Triathlon Team, earning a B.S. in Exercise Science. Anna earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore in September 2025.

Brian Lausch has been a USA Triathlon Certified Race Director since 2010 and has served as camp director since 2013. Brian race directed the Nottingham Kids Triathlon and Columbia Association Kids Triathlon, championed and managed the Maryland Youth Triathlon Series, and has been contracted by IRONMAN, Kinetic Multisports, Racine MultiSports, and the American Diabetes Association as bike course lead. In April 2020, Brian shifted gears and now supports athletes as a professional bicycle mechanic.

Founded in 1832—nearly 30 years before the start of the Civil War—Gettysburg College is at the center of our nation’s history and a short drive from Baltimore, Maryland, and Washington, D.C. Daily training will combine a mix of campus facilities and winding roads around Gettysburg.

Draft Camp details

  • A USA Triathlon Designated draft-legal camp

  • A USA Triathlon sanctioned camp since 2013 (2026 ID 358317)

  • Led by USA Triathlon certified coaches with draft-legal and collegiate triathlon racing and coaching experience

  • Open to male and female triathletes ages 13-19 (born in 2007-2013)

  • Four-day, four-night camp

  • Check in at 11 a.m. Sunday, July 5, check out at 9 a.m. Thursday, July 9

  • Prior triathlon experience is required

  • USA Triathlon membership is required

  • The $1,150 camp fee includes: four-night double occupancy room; breakfast, lunch, and dinner; snacks; coaching fees, and facility use fees

  • The camp fee does not include RunSignup fee

  • The camp fee does not include USAT membership

Draft Camp guide

Our Camp Guide includes important information, like what to pack, check-in, and the camp schedule just to name a few. It also includes our Camp Policies. Triathletes and parents must read the Camp Policies and turn in the Camp Signature Page at check-in. Our Camp Guide will be posted one month prior to camp.

Selection process

Draft Camp attendance is selective. Our camp director and coaching staff have the discretion to select a cohort of athletes who, based on chronological and developmental age, sport experience, and goals, will best allow for the camp objectives to be met.
